Art Weaving Talk was focused on the speaker’s work as a contemporary Lanna-style artist and textile designer. Kachama explain her signature works feature fabrics which are inspired by traditional weaving techniques of the northern hill tribes and Southeast Asian minority groups.  By gathering ideas from her surroundings, Kachama has developed and created remarkably detailed and striking textiles that are full of life and vivid colors.  With a “Back to Nature” philosophy serving as her guide, she uses natural materials, such as natural-dyed cotton thread and silk yarn, to bring her creative textile works to life. Other natural materials used in her weavings include flowers, bark, tree leaf, and banana tree fiber.
